Matthew 10:29-31  Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows

On March 16, 2026, I was awaken by the sounds of thrashing rain against my doors and windows, and the sound of howling winds. The sounds were definitely disturbing, and left me a little in fright. I heard a little more rustling than I typically do over head but thought nothing of it. By the time I officially got up for prayer call and then work, I read messages from traveling colleagues that their flights had been cancelled coming to North Carolina, due to a tornado watch for Charlotte. The storm subsided as all storms do; but this time it left behind a lesson for me to both learn and to deliver.

Not long after the storm left, I heard the rustling of feathers, and tiny tiny feet. It was unmistakable. I heard the flapping of wings, and its possible disorientation.  A bird had flown into the dryer vent due to the store looking for shelter. And shelter he or she found.  Over the next few days the bird and I developed a call and response relationship. He rustled around, and when he got quiet, I knocked on the dryer to get him to make noise to ensure he did not die in that vent. After day 3, I called my maintenance team, and they spring into action. They brought ladders, and vent guards to protect the vents. They said they wanted to check to make sure the bird was either gone or dead. They were essentially going to flush it out by way of force. Y’all I started praying for this bird and then came the tears. I was crying for a bird because I did not want them to kill the bird.  For me this was a life that God had entrusted us with. The maintenance man just looked at me and shook his head.

As I cried real tears for the birds, God spoke to me. The conversation went like this,

I gave you a heart for this bird as I gave you a heart for things that concern me. I care for this bird, but I care much more for you, Eve, Bathsheba, Crystal, Anna, Tracey, Deborah, Jael, Rachel, Esther, Tamar, Tammie, Lula, Sheri, Vanessa, Linda, Priscilla, Dorcas, the Shunamite Woman, Leah, Ruth, Stacey and all the women of this world. I see the injustice. I see unfairness. I feel the hurt. I feel the pain. I feel the rejection and all the disparities’ that plagues this world. If I cared for that bird enough to give him shelter from a storm, how much more will I do for my daughters. There are a few things I need you to do,

·      Don’t get caught up in the world of feminism. I created men and women equally, and to be equal. Codependent upon each, both looking to me for your needs.

·      Know that I fight for you. Whatever barriers that are put in place, it is I that knock them down- making ways in the desert.

Never doubt how much I care for you! I watch over both you and my Word. It will not come back to me void. And just know this- I have moves you haven’t seen before.

When Jesus took the other route and spoke to the Woman at the Well, we had you in mind. Never leaving you out of my plans. You belong to me, and I belong to you. You are my daughters. More than the birds in the air. Cry out to me. Pray to me. And watch me do a new thing in you, through you, and for you.  The same ways in which I worked in and through each woman you talked about, I can work in yours. Pray for your sisters. Pray for my daughters. For I am doing a new thing. Do you not see it. It springs forth! Amen.
